Abstract: An 8 page paper that explores the issue of 'polls as oracles,' and posits that the media should take steps to improve their poll taking abilities because of misleading results. The writer takes the viewpoint of polls and how they affect political processes, especially as they relate to politicians and smear campaigns and how this relates to the public acceptance of those tactics and poll results.
