Nelson Mandela

Abstract: A 4 page paper written as a speech and providing an overview of Nelson Mandela's life. Mandela worked for the defeat of racism both within and outside prison. After the fall of apartheid came the real test, and Mandela demonstrated himself to be a man of compassion as well as strong conviction. He sought to unite his post-apartheid country rather than divide it, winning for himself an effectively-governed country as well as the Nobel prize for peace in 1993, followed by being elected to the presidency of South Africa in 1994.
