Abstract: A 3 page film review that discusses how the 1983 film The Right Stuff portrays how Americans view technology. The film reports historical events accurately and creatively, but it also demonstrates, as did the book by Tom Wolfe, America's relationship with the concept of technology. While technology is presumably dry, scientific and rational, this film shows how it has been imbued with myth and romance by the American psyche, as it seems to constitute the "magic" of the modern age.
