Abstract: This 10 page paper examines this decade and not only how women were portrayed in film, but also how they were criticized. Many female actors are named inclusive of but not limited to Katharine Hepburn , Helen Hayes and Sandra Dee. There is also a decided focus on the critics. Bibliography lists 9 sources.
