Considerations in Salmon Farming

Abstract: A 5 page overview of Salmon farming, one specific niche of the aquaculture industry. The author emphasizes that while the environmental problems confronting our salmon resources are difficult to address, the problem of making salmon available as a food choice is being addressed with the establishment of salmon farming techniques. Salmon farming as a while, however, has resulted not only in benefits but in certain negative impacts to the native salmon resource as well as to the environment. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
