How the Elderly are Treated in Various Cultures

Abstract: This 7 page paper examines the plight of the elderly and how they are treated in the United States, as well as in two other cultures which are the Tiwi of Northern Australia and the Abkhasians of Caucasus. The cultures are examined with the use of the concepts of functionalism, interactionism and conflict theory. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
