Douglass/Rousseau, Their Early Education

Abstract: A 4 page essay that contrasts and compares the educational experiences of Jean-Jacques Rousseau (1712-1728) and Frederick Douglass (1817?-1895), two articulate, well-educated men who both wrote autobiographies that describe their early educational experience. The writer argues that while these two highly intelligent men accomplished a similar task in writing their autobiographies, their early educational experience could not have been more different. Bibliography lists 2 sources.
