What Is The Meaning Of Life

Abstract: A 9 page paper that considers the question of the meaning of life. This is a question that has been perplexing man probably since shortly after man appeared on earth. It is a question that has been addressed by physicists, philosophers, theologians, Biblical scholars, psychologists and just about everyone else. It is a question with no definitive answer. This is a question people often ask as they realize their own mortality. The writer includes famous quotes from a number of individuals. The essay addresses spirituality and faith and the opinions of some ancient Greek philosophers. The writer discuses Camus's The Myth of Sisyphus and Frankl's will to meaning. Camus suggests that life is nothing more than a journey to death. Alan Watts offered insight into the difficulty of finding an answer by using a saying from Lao-tzu. The Epic of Gilgamesh is also mentioned in illustrating the importance of reading old stories to learn what we do not know.
