Housing & Residential District Evolution

Abstract: A 5 page examination of residential use patterns on a historic and worldwide perspective. The writer provides numerous examples of cities which have evolved in terms of their residential use as a result of the transition from production-based activities to consumption-based activities. Concludes that residential use patterns are circular in their historic nature but that they are not predictable given the number of factors which can influence them. Bibliography lists three sources.
