Making Welfare Work

Abstract: A 6 page research paper that examines the issue of how best to go about transitioning people from welfare to employment. The Manpower Demonstration Research Corporation (MDRC) conducted a national evaluation of welfare-to-work strategies as a under the auspices of the US Department of Health and Human Services. The report on this evaluation summarizes the long-term effects of eleven mandatory welfare to work programs, their effects on welfare recipients and their children.
