Abstract: A 15 page discussion of the popular perception that Native Americans exhibit a uniform ecological world view. Presents supporting and detracting arguments for this view. Notes first that the sheer diversity of Native American cultures and individuals would make it unlikely that such a uniformity in view exists. The author then points out demonstrated differences in the way that Native Americans interact with their environment as opposed to the way those of European backgrounds interact with theirs, differences which would appear to support the contention of a uniform ecological world view among Native Americans. Bibliography lists 15 sources.
