Denver looking For Workers

Abstract: (3 pp). Overall Colorado's rate of unemployment as of August of this year (2000) was 2.7 percent; the corresponding figure for Denver over the same time period was 2.3 percent. With employers along Denver's Front Range mountains scrambling to fill job vacancies, senior citizens, teenagers and people previously considered unemployable have become sought-after commodities. Virtually everyone who wants a job has one: Colorado's unemployment rate was 2.3 percent in June, the second-lowest in the country. The jobless rate rose to 2.7 percent in July, but remains at historically low levels. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
