Abstract: 10 pages in length. The Kamakuran period marks the time in Japanese history when the city of Kamakura was the capitol of Japan. The period was characterized by great and beautiful art as a direct result of the change in military rule, and Buddhist beliefs. Most of the art of the time consisted sculptures pictures and portraits of Gods, spirits, and priests.
