Comparing Three Minimalist Artists

Abstract: A 10 page paper highlighting the work of Marcel Duchamp, Ulrich Ruckriem and Donald Judd. Of these three artists, it would appear that only Ruckriem is in danger of taking too seriously both his work and minimalist art in general. Duchamp made fun of the entire area of modern art and encouraged others to do the same; Judd even disdained hearing his work called sculpture. They each presented very different styles, both in their approaches and their final work, as evidenced by Ruckriem's concerns of his work being too much for a building to support weighed against the report of Judd's volume of work and wide range of sizes.
