Abstract: An 11 page discussion of the contribution of nonpoint pollution to the degradation of the world's waterbodies. Identifies nonpoint pollution sources and distinguishes them from point source pollution. Identifies primary nonpoint pollutants and outlines their impact on the environment. Suggests that while the environmental regulations for point source pollution have improved considerably over the past three decades, the regulations for nonpoint pollution are insufficient.
